The
Seedling Schools are modeled on the day boarding concept where the child receives a
comprehensive education, designed to promote physical, mental and social development.
Our objects is to equip the students with knowledge , skill and values which will
enable them to take their Board examinations with responsibility and effectives, gain
life-time skill for their personal and professional development , and grow into young
adults who are socially aware of their responsibility to Indian society.
A carefully planned academic syllabus ensure that the child enjoy the years spent in
learning , discovering and acquiring a sound understanding of concepts in favor subjects.
The syllabus is enriched by teacher designed worksheets and subjects integrated projects.
Emphasis is placed on learning through application and is reinforced through
curriculum related trips, talk by invited speakers and films.
In the Pre-Primary years we follow a non formal approach to learning by doing. Children
are encouraged to explore the environment around them and their place in it, through
projects which integrate art, craft, music and dance. Activities are designed to develop
their fine motor skills and encourage sensorial development.

METHODS WE FOLLOW
1.Imaginative play and creative development
An important part of the development of all young children is
their ability to represent and interpret their knowledge of the world in different ways.
This is achieved through drawing painting making three dimensional models, singing ,
dancing and pretend play. Young children need the opportunity to be creative. They need
the appropriate materials and most importantly, the time to work alone.
* experience great joy and satisfaction;
* express their feelings;
* develop language;
* learn social skills;
*learn many skill and concepts, especially those related to shape , size, colour, texture,
space, and handling of tools;
* interpret their knowledge and understanding of the world.
2.Developing pre-reading skills
Reading depends on two major skill-knowing what the words say
and understanding what they mean. Being able to see that letters make a word and
pronouncing that word correctly needs to be complemented an understanding of what the word
means.
To understand what words means, children first need to develop the skills of listing and
talking. As children learn to speak, they about language itself and how the parts of
speech fit together. Talking is an essential pre-reading activity. Each time we talk with
a young child , we will be reinforcing his understanding of the language and introducing
new vocabulary and concept to him.
We develop awareness of the sounds and rhythm of language by reciting nursery rhymes and
singing simple melodious songs. |
